Our Expectations:
When you enroll in Alderwood, as your child's teacher you are expected to:
- Teach 180 days or 900 hrs per year
- Kindergarten: Five hundred forty (540) net instructional hours.
- Grades 1-3: Seven hundred twenty (720) net instructional hours.
- Grades 4-12: Nine hundred (900) net instructional hours.
- Keep a report card and an attendance record---showing subject taught, grades earned and the number of days taught.
- Submit the coursework and grades attained through the form on your student's private web page at the end of each semester.
- note: It is not necessary to submit information concerning any Florida Virtual School classes
- Submit the attendance record and test/evaluation results* at the end of your school year.
- Keep a portfolio, consisting of a list of materials used and samples of the student's work.
- From this portfolio--at the end of your school year--save two pieces of work from each subject.
- *Provide annual evaluation results, required for grades 4-12, optional for grades 1-3.
- Enter the evaluation results on your student's web page at the end of your school year.

- nationally normed student achievement test, we can direct you to reasonably priced evaluations that you can administer and submit for scoring.
- portfolio review with student interview by a certified teacher
- evaluation by a licensed psychologist

- Certified copy of Birth Certificate
- Students born in Florida may order copies of their birth certificates from their local county Health Department, you do not have to order from the county of birth. Students born in the USA but not Florida are directed to the National Center for Health Statistics - Where to Write for Vital Records.

Student Health Examination (HRS-H Form 3040) or waiver form

- These forms are not available to the public and must be completed by a Florida physician or a Florida county health department.
