Our Expectations

When you enroll in Alderwood Academy you, as your child's teacher agree to:

    Teach 180 days or 900 hrs* per year
          *
Kindergarten: Five hundred forty (540) net instructional hours.
                Grades 1-3: Seven hundred twenty (720) net instructional hours.
                Grades 4-12: Nine hundred (900) net instructional hours.

      Keep a report card and an attendance record--both forms provided by Alderwood--showing subject taught, grades earned and number of days taught in each subject.

           Submit a copy of the report card to the Director at the end of each semester.

           Submit the attendance record and test/evaluation results at the end of your school year.

     Keep a portfolio, consisting of a list of materials used and samples of the student's work.

          From this portfolio--at the end of your school year--save two pieces of work from each subject .

     Provide annual standardized testing results, testing is required for grades 4-12, optional for grades 1-3.
Alderwood provides testing services for an additional fee. Our students receive a 20% discount. Discount is not applied to travel expenses if the evaluation is administered out of Pinellas county.  For more information concerning the evaluation...email

          Mail a copy of the test or evaluation results to the Director at the end of your school year.

     Provide the following documentation:

          Certified copy of Birth Certificate

           Student Health Examination (HRS-H Form 3040) or waiver form

           Florida Certificate of Immunization (HRS Form 680) or waiver form

               These forms are not available to the public and must be completed by a Florida physician or a Florida county health department.
